The tyre's tread compounds has been derived from Michelin's extensive experience in key motorsport events - such as Formula E and World Rally Championship. The Pilot Sport 4 has a tyre compound featuring a unique blend of elastomers and hydrophobic Silica which helps the tyre to remain flexible - delivering excellent wet grip and reliable braking performances. The tyre's wide longitudinal grooves work to disperse surface water from the road surface, reducing the risk of aquaplaning.
