Saving Sessions are short national or regional events where you either Power down (use less electricity at peak times) or Power up (use more when the grid is especially green). During a Power down session Octopus rewards you with Octopoints — the page states you get 101 Octopoints for every unit (kWh) you save compared to your normal use. Rewards are credited to your Octoplus account within a few weeks.

• Two session types: Power down (reduce usage) and Power up (increase usage when renewables are abundant).
• To take part you must be an Octoplus member with a smart electricity meter and have accepted the session invite (usually by email).
• Octopus measures your half-hourly smart meter readings to calculate savings; follow safety guidance and avoid switching off essential appliances.
